Missing My Loved Ones Far Away in the Moonlight

海上生明月，
天涯共此时。
The moon rises on the sea,
At this time we are far apart.
情人怨遥夜，
竟夕起相思。
How I hate the night being too long,
Missing you so much the whole night.
灭烛怜光满，
披衣觉露滋。
Snuffing out the candle I enjoy the moonlight,
Putting on my coat I feel the cool dew outside.
不堪盈手赠，
还寝梦佳期。
Unable to gather and send the moonlight to you as a gift,
I’d better go back to sleep wishing to see you in the dream.
【译文】
海上一轮明月升起，
此时亲人远在天涯。
惟恨夜晚太过漫长，
想念亲人一夜无眠。
熄灭蜡烛怜爱满屋月光，
披衣徘徊月下露水清凉。
不能满捧月华拱手相赠，
回寝室期待相见在梦乡。
【注释】
1)怀远：怀念远方的亲人。
2)情人：多情的人，指作者自己或亲人。
3)遥夜：长夜。怨遥夜：因想念亲人而失眠，以至抱怨夜太长。
4)竟夕：一整夜。
5)怜光满：爱惜满屋的月光。怜：爱。
6)滋：（zī）湿润。
7)不堪：不能。
8)盈手：双手捧满。盈：满，指充盈的状态。
9)还寝：回去睡觉。
10)梦佳期：在梦中相见。
11)snuff [snʌf] v.熄灭
